When most people think about corporate functions, they picture hotel conference rooms, office boardrooms, or formal picnic areas">event venues. But today, many businesses are looking for something different — a venue that feels more relaxed, interactive, and enjoyable for employees. That’s where family resorts come in.
A family resort can actually be one of the best places to host company events, team-building activities, staff celebrations, and corporate gatherings. With open spaces, outdoor activities, and a less formal atmosphere, employees can connect more naturally while still focusing on teamwork and company goals.
At Buksies Resort in Johannesburg South, companies have access to affordable outdoor event spaces combined with family-friendly activities that create memorable experiences for teams of all sizes.
Why Family Resorts Work Well for Corporate Functions
Corporate events don’t always need to happen indoors. In fact, outdoor venues often help employees feel more comfortable and engaged. A family resort offers a refreshing environment away from the office, helping teams relax, communicate better, and build stronger relationships.
Here are some reasons businesses choose family resorts for events in Johannesburg:
- Spacious outdoor venues for large or small groups
- Relaxed atmosphere that encourages team bonding
- Affordable venue hire compared to traditional conference venues
- Activities that support team-building and interaction
- Braai and picnic areas for casual networking
- Swimming pools and sports fields for recreational activities
- Safe and family-friendly environment
- Catering and accommodation options available
For businesses planning year-end functions, staff appreciation events, or company family days, a resort setting creates a more enjoyable and memorable experience.
Team-Building Activities in a Resort Environment
One of the biggest advantages of hosting a corporate event at a family resort is the variety of activities available for team-building.
At Buksies Resort, teams can enjoy:
- Mini soccer matches
- Volleyball games
- Outdoor picnic challenges
- Group braais
- Poolside relaxation
- Family fun activities for staff and children
- Open recreational spaces for custom team-building exercises
Outdoor activities encourage communication, collaboration, and problem-solving in a natural and stress-free setting. Employees often return to work feeling more connected and motivated after spending quality time together outside the workplace.
Perfect for Company Family Days
Many companies today are including employees’ families in workplace celebrations and events. Hosting a corporate family day at a family resort allows staff members to bring their partners and children along for a fun-filled day.
Children can enjoy trampolines, jumping castles, swimming pools, and farm animal viewing while adults relax, socialize, and participate in activities together.
This type of event helps improve company culture and strengthens relationships between employees and management in a more personal setting.
